TRP Hy/Rd Disc Brake Fluid Level Adjustment

Linus Kwak

I have had a couple people ask me about how I adjusted my TRP Hy/Rd brakes to get the perfect reach.  So I thought I'll take some pictures to show how it's done.

IMO, TRP Hy/Rd is the best hybrid disc brake system in the industry so far.  The master cylinder is integrated with the caliper so that the cable can be used to push the cylinder.  However, manufactures of road levers have different cable pull ratio so some setups will have excessive brake pull.  Hy/Rd is shipped with low fluid level from the factory so if you top up the fluid, you'll have shorter cable pull.

After remount the brake, the lever can be too tight.  You can loosen it by open the bleed screw and let some oil out.

Have fun.
