My Venture Into 1x Drivetrain
Linus Kwak
I've been running single speed(SS) system on my commuter cyclocross for a while, but I always thought SS was limiting CX bike's ability to go anywhere. I like to ride in rough trails and I also like to go fast with traffic when I'm riding back home.
So I decided to try the popular 1x system.

My trusty commuter with SS setup.

Parts required for the conversion.
From left top(clockwise): Race Face NarrowWide 110bcd 42T ring, Sram X9 Type 2 Medium Cage, Shimano Dura-Ace CN-7900 10sp. chain, Shimano XT 10sp 11-32T Cassette.
FYI, I've been using Sram Rival levers as brake levers so no changes there.

Wheels Mfg. SS kit.
Previously I only used 36T chainring.

Sram X9 Type 2 Rear Derailleur installation
Chain installed.
Rear shift cable and housing installation.
Finished.
I've been running this system for a while now and all I can say is that this setup fits near perfect for the purpose of my riding style.
Have a great ride.
